Emerald Valley Turquoise Inlay Squash Blossom Necklace – Pick of the Day!
Beautiful Squash Blossom Necklace
Our picture of the day is this beautifully handmade Navajo squash blossom necklace made with genuine sterling silver and real Emerald Valley Turquoise. The inlay itself is carefully set in multiple settings, with think silver lines accenting in-between. It is made with one Naja (the crescent shaped center pendant piece) and a double strand of eight-mm silver round beads nicely placed in regular intervals among the round side of the beautiful center piece. The Naja itself is set with three magnificent inlay settings, and each side of the necklace itself has five settings which are attached to silver petals called squash blossoms. Each of these inlay settings are highlighted by silver beads and carefully hand cut designs. This traditional styled squash blossom necklace is not stiff and flexible.
You will definitely stand out in a crowd wearing this artfully crafted piece that is for sure. This squash blossom necklace is available for purchase from our good friends over at SilverTribe.

Since we’re great lovers of turquoise in general, and turquoise jewelry in particular, we are periodically going to share great pictures we find of both. Today’s pic is of a stunning group of Kingman Turquoise cabochons (cabochon, for the uninitiated, means a polished finished gemstone), courtesy of Garlands Jewelry. Kingman Turquoise has been used by the Navajos in their jewelry since 600 AD when they starting harvesting from the legendary Kingman Turquoise open-pit mine in Arizona, and is recognized by its electric blue hues traced with black matrix, and is some of the best blue turquoise you’re likely to find. Very high-grade Kingman turquoise has a silver matrix, making for a stunning mixture of electric blue and silver, which makes for some truly gorgeous turquoise jewelry.
