THE STORY BEHIND THE JEWELRY
Sterling silver, Turquoise, Green Agate, Lapis, Oyster Shell, and Coral.
Necklace measures approximately 20-1/4" long and weighs 50 grams.
If youre looking for elegance and beauty, you found it! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand strung out of genuine sterling silver, along with Multicolor beads. The necklace is made up of FOUR strands that consist of: real 6-mm Oyster Shell beads, 5-mm Coral rondelle beads, 5-mm Turquoise beads, 4-mm Lapis Beads, 5-mm Green Agate beads, and 3-mm Silver Round beads. Necklace can be worn one of two ways, loosely around the neck or slightly twisted for an additional fashion statement. Each end of the necklace is completed with a silver cone for a marvelous look. The cones are stamped sterling.
Corals are known to be very soothing and very protective. Coral is of an organic origin, it is the skeletal remains of marine animals called Coral Polyps. Colonies of these tiny creatures build branching structures as they grow, gradually forming reefs and atolls.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of their appeal and beauty.
