Is this turquoise "real"?

Simply, "YES!"  We employ our best efforts to safeguard your trust and ensure our turquoise is "real" and of the highest quality.  We do not sell either dyed turquoise or reconstituted turquoise (also known as "chalk turquoise").  We only use genuine authentic turquoise in our jewelry.  Why do it otherwise?

Our head of purchasing and procurement has been buying and selling turquoise jewelry for a decade and a half for major retailers and wholesalers, and brings her expertise and relationships to bear in hand-selecting authentic quality turquoise jewelry for our customers.  We take great pride in the jewelry we sell our customers.

In recent years both fake and chemically-treated turquoise has unfortunately become more prevalent.  For those that know turquoise, it is easy to tell the difference.  One way to tell is whether the stone is of a uniform color.  A turquoise stone of totally uniform color without any of the trademark matrix of black, brown and gold coloring is most likely been dyed or reconstituted in some chemical fashion.  While this is not always true, it is a very good guideline to follow (although the Sleeping Beauty mine in Arizona, for instance, produces some beautiful uniform pale blue turquoise).  Also keep in mind that real turquoise stones of any size are valuable gemstones, particularly since there is a dwindling global supply of turquoise, and are likely to be priced accordingly.  If the price seems too good to be true, it's probably because it is.
