This is truly an outstanding pendant that will make a great impression! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by artist Jeff James, out of genuine sterling silver and a real Turquoise stone. The stone is carefully set in a hand cut bezel, while hand crafted silver work creates a gorgeous Naja design. Inside the Naja, shadow box settings create a design that depicts the every day life style of the Native Americans, which includes a hogan, vehicle, and landscape scenery. Stamped patterns accent the pendant for a lovely finish. The pendant is stamped sterling and hallmarked.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.
