DESCRIPTION

This necklace is a true treasure! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand strung out of genuine sterling silver along with real multicolor beads. The necklace is made up of THREE strands that consist of: 4-mm Red Oyster Shell round beads and Turquoise free formed beads that have an average measurement of 8-mm. The necklace can be worn one of two ways, loosely around the neck or slightly twisted for an additional fashion statement.  Each end of the necklace is completed with a silver cone for a dazzling finish. The cones are stamped sterling.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of their appeal and beauty.
