DESCRIPTION:
This lovely pair of earrings is a work of art! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by artist Verley Betone, out of genuine sterling silver and man made Blue Opals. The stones are gently set in a hand cut shadow box bezel setting, while being surrounded by twisted silver and mini stamped silver beads for a remarkable finish. The earrings are stamped sterling and hallmarked.
Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Latin word "Oplus" meaning precious stone. Opal is the birthstone for October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.
