DESCRIPTION:
This magnificent and traditional belt buckle represents the finest of Hopi craftsmanship! This piece of Native American jewelry is Hopi overlay hand crafted by artist George Phillips out of genuine sterling silver. Overlay is a process that utilizes at least two layers of sterling silver. One layer forms the foundation, while the second is used to design the individual detailed overlay. In this belt buckle, the second layer forms a beautiful End of the Trail, Bear Paw, and other Native American designs that gives the piece a wonderful finish. In Native American beliefs, the bear paw is usually considered a way to call for the power of the animal spirit, or as an indication of the presence of the spirit. It is a symbol that represents inner strength. The belt buckle is stamped sterling and hallmarked.
